Our Review:

Loved it. I'm No Supermouse is one of my top 10 Geronimo Stilton Books.

It is chock-full of all the wonderful things that make this series great-Friendship, bravery, humor, color, thinking of others and mice!

The basic premise is that Bruce Hyena kidnaps Geronimo and drags him on a survival boot camp with fairly humorous and not-too-unexpected results.

At the end however there is a little twist to the story.

Just as Geronimo is relaxing and settling back into his life at the office, something life-changing occurs.

A storm moves through the Northern top of Mouse Island, rendering it a disaster area!

In true Geronimo Stilton style this little mouse with a big heart goes into action. With all the survival skills he has acquired over the last week he is more than capable of motivating everyone to help those who have been affected by the disaster.

And they do.

Show me another kids book where this happens!!!

I should say that when I received this book my local area had just experienced a flood: (Just Google "Brisbane Flood 2011")

Hundreds of houses in the city, including those along my road were damaged and the houses on either side of  my street were inundated with water, mud and who knows what else.

Even now there are roads closed around the corner from me and our local park is covered with dry mud. This is a video of it (from a house across the road) during the peak.

I live in a very modern city and its not something I would have ever thought I would experience.

The heart warming thing is that neighbors all helped each other, and even people who were unaffected by the flood bussed into the area to help those whose homes had been damaged.

Knowing that there are books like this that let kids know that people still help each other and will give their heart and soul for people they don't know is an amazing message in this modern world we are constantly told is so harsh, selfish and scary.

Just another reason why I love this series and will continue to promote it for as long as I can :0)
