Animation Insider has announced that Moonscoop's Geronimo Stilton Cartoon is nominated for an award at the 2010 Cartoons On the Bay, Pulcinella Awards in Italy.

This is the 14th year of Cartoons on the Bay, the International Television and Multimedia Animation Festival and Geronimo Stilton is nominated for Best TV series for Kids.

The four day festival takes place from April 15th to 18th 2010 at locations including Rapallo, Portofino and Santa Margherita Ligure.

Amazon has started shipping the latest Geronimo Stilton Special Edition, Thea Stilton and The Ghost Of the Shipwreck. The book is the third in the Thea Stilton series which details the adventures of a group of Thea's students from Mouseford Academy.

I have preordered my copy from Amazon and just received an email to say it has shipped this morning so a review will be up as soon as it lands in my paws!

During a marine biology lesson at Mouseford Academy, the Thea Sisters learn about a mysterious shipwreck off Whale Island. According to legend, a very rare diamond called Jasmine's Heart was on the ship when it sank. When biology teacher Professor Van Kraken disappears, the Thea Sisters have to dive into the deep ocean to find him and the jewel. And just when they think their adventures are over, the Thea Sisters receive an invitation to travel to China to find another missing treasure. It's an adventure these five world-traveling mice will never forget!

According to the press release below, Geronimo Stilton fans in Italy will be able to start drinking Geronimo Stilton drinks in a few weeks.

The drinks they mention sound interesting but I'm hanging out for the cheese flavored ones!

Seriously though anything that moves kids (and adults for that matter) away from drinking lots of sweet carbonated drinks is a good thing in my book.

If you check out the San Benedetto website, there are a few pictures of the animated Geronimo and by going to their Downloads section you will find four great coloring-in pages of Geronimo and the gang.

(Milan, Italy) (February 15, 2010) – Milan-based Atlantyca Entertainment has secured a one-year licensing agreement with Italy’s leading bottled water supplier Acqua Minerale S. Benedetto S.p.A., it was announced by Atlantyca Entertainment Director of Licensing Maria Giovanna Gurrieri.

The deal gives San Benedetto rights (for Italy) to feature Geronimo Stilton and the cast of characters from the new Geronimo Stilton animated series as part of the launch of a new line of healthy water-based drinks for kids debuting at retail in March 2010. The characters will be used on packaging, in-store displays, promotional items and the San Benedetto Kids website, www.sanbenedettokids.it, to promote a new line of flavored ice tea-based and chamomile-based beverages for kids.

“Geronimo Stilton and the cast of characters from the animated series are a perfect fit for the world of San Benedetto Kids and will serve as recognizable representatives who encourage kids to make better choices by opting for this new line of water-based, vitamin-rich drinks instead of unhealthy carbonated beverages,” said Gurrieri. “Once again Geronimo shows how much he cares about kids.”

Co-produced by Atlantyca Entertainment and Moonscoop, Geronimo Stilton, the animated series is based on the popular children’s chapter book series of the same name. Geronimo Stilton premiered on Italy’s Rai this past fall. The series has been sold to Nickelodeon Northern Europe International (Belgium, The Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland.) In Iberian markets, Turner’s Cartoon Network, Boomerang and Boing Channels (Spain); RTP (Portugal for free TV rights) and Chellomedia’s (the European contents division of Liberty Global Inc.) Eeeekkknnna, a regular contributor to the site, has let us know that a 3 page preview of the next Geronimo Stilton graphic novel is available on the publisher's website.

Entitled Following the Trail of Marco Polothis is the fourth Geronimo Stilton graphic novel from Papercutz.

Out in April 2010 the graphic novel (or comic) details Geronimo's trip back in time to Beijing to stop the Pirate Cats from corrupting Marco Polo’s famous book “The Travels of Marco Polo,” and changing history forever.

Ok... it's in Spanish but one of our readers, Dani was kind enough to let us know that a full episode of the Geronimo Stilton cartoon is up on Youtube. If you goto the Youtube member's account you will actually see they have more episodes, so watch them while you can!

The episode in question is most likely Episode 8, The Route To China. You can see the clips below but here is a summary of the episode if you don't understand Spanish.

While waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting...to hear some news about when we can expect to see the Geronimo Stilton cartoon in English I found a heap of new clips up on Youtube.

They are in Swedish, Spanish, Italian and just about every other language but English.
This is probably my favourite. I wonder who the pirate dude is? He looks a little familiar...

But there is also this one which will hopefully make more (any would be good!) sense when translated to English.

Hi All and Happy Holidays!

Firstly let me apologise for the lack of updates over the last couple of weeks.

I've been moving house after 12 years in the same home and its been a crazy time. But rest assured I'm back on track now and ready to squeak!

First off the mark is to wish all Geronimo fans and readers of the site a Merry Christmas. Thanks for making the site a wonderful place to be for fellow fans.

The big announcement for today is that Amazon has released book #40 The Karate Mouse a little early!

Some great news for Geronimo Stilton fans, just in time for the Holiday season.

Its rare that two Geronimo books are released in the same week but that is exactly what has happened today as both Geronimo Stilton and the Kingdom of Fantasy and Geronimo Stilton The Coliseum Con have just become in-stock and available to ship at Amazon/Barnes & Noble.

If you haven't already, read my positive (to say the least) review of The Kingdom Of Fantasy.

To me it is the perfect Geronimo Stilton book, full of adventure, fantasy, fun and courage. In a thick, hardcover format, it makes a great gift for a young (or old!) reader, even if they haven't read Geronimo before.

The new graphic novel, also out today,  is sure to be as successful as the first two sell-out volumes, this time with a focus on Ancient Rome.

Produced by Papercutz the graphic novels (or comics) keep the appeal of the standard books by combining snappy dialogue, cool illustrations and informative fact-files.

P.S. From one book fan to another, just a reminder that Amazon are having their once a year Black Friday sale all this week. Sure, sure...I know another sale.

But I actually checked it out and there are some crazy deals, on not just toys and electronics but books too. But just for this week, and (I think) the deals change daily (so I think you have to check back each day).

We're talking 70%, 80%, 90% discounts on some really nice books (as I write this Beedle The Bard is 7 hours away from going on sale-these guys really know how to build anticipation!)

In the lead-up to Christmas I've had a few questions on the site about Geronimo Stilton toys and their availability in the US and UK.

While I can offer no real concrete news about either the TV series, DVD and toys being available in regular English speaking outlets I can point you to ebay Italy.

Many sellers on the Italian ebay site ship overseas and have excellent feedback so can be regarded as viable sources for many Geronimo toys that aren't available here.

Hi Again

I've recovered somewhat from my Geronimo Stilton and the Kingdom Of Fantasy extravaganza and have a few more little bits of news.

Publisher's Weekly reports today that the first two Geronimo Stilton graphic novels have sold out of their first printing of 50000. No news on a second printing but I'm sure its on the cards.

In other graphic novel news the third book in the series, The Coliseum Con, is out next week (November 24th). Set in Ancient Rome, Geronimo is after the Pirate Cats again as they threaten to disrupt the opening of the great Colosseum, Ancient Rome’s largest amphitheater.

I must say the misspelling in the title (Coliseum vs Colosseum) has me intrigued (Ancient history geeks, am I missing something?).
