I finally have the Geronimo Stilton Cartoon on my TV screen, if not in the format I had expected!

Just moments ago my doorbell rang and a very nice DHL delivery man handed me an Amazon Canada box, hot off the press.

It was interesting timing, as I was replying to an email from Ken, the fan who originally let me know about the DVDs being listed on Amazon Canada.

Ken was letting me know he had received his copy of the DVD and sent me the wonderful photos you see on this post.

Anyway I almost kissed the delivery man, he had no idea the significance of what he was handing me.

With a huge smile on my face I raced back to my apartment, finished my email to Ken to let him know that it had arrived and then ripped open the box.

There before me lay 2 discs of unparalleled Geronimo Goodness.

I will update more when I watch a few of the episodes, hopefully review each one with screenshots (when I figure out how to do this!).

A keen Canadian, Ken has contacted me over the last week or so (thanks Ken) to let me know of two rather unique items that have turned up on Amazon Canada.

They appear to be the French and English language versions of the Geronimo Stilton Cartoon on DVD.

Yes... you read that correctly.

The entire first season of the Geronimo Stilton Cartoon that we have been waiting for and waiting for, seems to be coming to DVD for those lucky enough to live in Canada...or those lucky enough to have a credit card who can order from Canada!

Now I hate to be a skeptic but I will believe it when I see it, so have emailed the distributor and will let you know what I discover. UPDATE: It is in English!

Needless to say I have both paws crossed that I will soon be able to watch Geronimo and the gang in all their amazing adventures...and actually be able to understand what they are saying!

Finally A New Review!

Apologies for my absence lately but I finally have a new review up and will do more over the coming week.

The latest is for the Peculiar Pumpkin Thief, Geronimo's latest Halloween themed adventure. Is it me or is this the creepiest Geronimo book yet?

Maybe I am getting too much like Geronimo but I found myself under the covers more than once reading this book, my kids had to lend me their teddy bears to keep me company at night, I was so spooked.

Geronimo Stilton's latest adventure, The Peculiar Pumpkin Thief, has started shipping from Amazon. Each year Geronimo has an adventure that revolves around the occasion of Halloween and this year is no exception, albeit a little early.

The Peculiar Pumpkin Thief is Geronimo's 42nd book andthere is no sign of him slowing down. The book also features his banana loving friend Hercule Poirat, a detective who has helped Geronimo solve a number of exciting mysteries in the last few years. 

Summary: Halloween is a few days away when all of the pumpkins in New Mouse City disappear! There's a thief on the loose, and the thief wants to stop Halloween. At the same time, all of the mice in New Mouse City receive an invitation for a free trip to the brand new Mystery Mouse Theme Park.

Geronimo knows something strange is going on, but will he and his detective friend Hercule Poirat be able to solve the mystery in time to save Halloween?

Hot on the heels that production on the second season of the Geronimo Stilton Cartoon has been green-lit, comes news that Geronimo Stilton is set to cause a stir at the International Licensing Expo in Las Vegas in the coming week.

The Expo goes for three days starting on June the 8th and Geronimo Stilton will have a large presence there thanks to International agency Atlantyca. This is the first time Atlantyca have featured at theExpo and the main focus of their presence will be to highlight their Geronimo Stilton brand.

Maria Giovanna Gurrierri, licensing manager at Atlantyca said, “This is an exciting time for our company as we continue to expand our licensing initiatives. The show is the ideal platform for Atlantyca to launch a strong presence as a licensing partner for others and for seeking new licensees and partners for our properties.”

Let us hope that this increased presence will ensure the broadcast of the English language Geronimo Stilton cartoon very soon!



Hi All.

Thanks to all the gang on the site who have been keeping me up to date with new book releases and covers. I have been rather absent lately but ducking in every day or so to keep an eye on things-I'm never too far away!

From all the updates it seems like October is going to be a big month with no less than three new books coming out!

Not only that but the audio recording for books 20 and 21 are also coming out. I'm not a fan of the Geronimo Stilton audio books myself as I feel a great part of the value of the books is their visual elements. But I can understand that they can be a great resource for kids learning to read if they look at the book while listening to the audio recording.

I also have been keeping my paws to the ground for news of the English translation of  the cartoon but haven't heard anything. I am very tempted to buy the DVD on ebay Italy just to get my Geronimo fix!

Speaking of ebay Italy its a great way to spend an hour or so to see all the amazing book releases we can hopefully look forward to when they finally come out in English. One of my favourite upcoming titles is the one about a Gigantic Octopus!

The Italian Postal service (Poste Italiane) have put our favourite mouse on a stamp as part of their new release entitled Europe 2010: Books for Kids collection.

The stamps will appear all over the country as of May 7th and fans can look forward to pasting Geronimo on letters they send to friends and loved-ones, as well as to the tax office.

The Italian Geronimo Stilton stamp costs 0.65 euros and also will be made available on a sheet of 50 stamps; cards postcards; a folder with card, postcard and DVD; and other formats.

Maria Giovanna Gurrieri, licensing director for Atlantyca said, “This latest honor for our quintessential children’s character is testimony to the fact that Geronimo Stilton has earned a permanent position among Italy’s most memorable pop culture icons. We are extremely proud of Geronimo’s latest achievement,”.

Amazon has just started shipping Geronimo Stilton Book 41, Mighty Mount Kilimanjaro.

The book chronicles the latest in the famous mouse's adventures as he ascends Mount Kilimanjaro, an inactive volcano located in Tanzania and is one of the world's tallest freestanding mountains, rising 4600 m (15,100 feet).

According to the book's description,  Geronimo Stilton is convinced by his super-sporty friend Bruce Hyena to climb to the top of the famouse Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa. Geronimo must get into shape to make the climb and wonders how he will make it, given his love for cheese and the comforts of life.

Animation Insider has announced that Moonscoop's Geronimo Stilton Cartoon is nominated for an award at the 2010 Cartoons On the Bay, Pulcinella Awards in Italy.

This is the 14th year of Cartoons on the Bay, the International Television and Multimedia Animation Festival and Geronimo Stilton is nominated for Best TV series for Kids.

The four day festival takes place from April 15th to 18th 2010 at locations including Rapallo, Portofino and Santa Margherita Ligure.

Amazon has started shipping the latest Geronimo Stilton Special Edition, Thea Stilton and The Ghost Of the Shipwreck. The book is the third in the Thea Stilton series which details the adventures of a group of Thea's students from Mouseford Academy.

I have preordered my copy from Amazon and just received an email to say it has shipped this morning so a review will be up as soon as it lands in my paws!

During a marine biology lesson at Mouseford Academy, the Thea Sisters learn about a mysterious shipwreck off Whale Island. According to legend, a very rare diamond called Jasmine's Heart was on the ship when it sank. When biology teacher Professor Van Kraken disappears, the Thea Sisters have to dive into the deep ocean to find him and the jewel. And just when they think their adventures are over, the Thea Sisters receive an invitation to travel to China to find another missing treasure. It's an adventure these five world-traveling mice will never forget!
