Geronimo Stilton Rumble In The JungleGeronimo Stilton Rumble In The Jungle is Book number 53 in the ongoing tales of the reluctantly adventurous mouse reporter, Geronimo Stilton

Rumble in the Jungle sees him travelling (reluctantly) to Brazil where he visits both the rainforest and the capital Brasilia. His burley, adventurous friend Bruce Hyena encourages him to travel to Brazil so he can take lots of adventurous photos and improve the status of his Mousebook page.

For me, it seemed a strange motivation to base a trip around but as the story pans out, the rest of the adventure turns out to be a satisfying romp.

Information flows freely on the country and I personally found out how much I didn’t know about the country. The capital, Brasilia replaced Rio De Janeiro , in 1960 and was designed in the shape of an aeroplane. It is the only UNESCO World Heritage Site built in the 20th century.

There are some wonderful images and Geronimo ends up having a much more satisfying experience than just updating his Mousebook page.

A wonderful addition to the series.

Geronimo Stilton Mini Mysteries

I was browsing through a scholastic book club newsletter that my kids receive from school and came across three books, the Geronimo Stilton Mini Mysteries, that I hadn’t’ heard of before. Flaming Cheese-sticks! Three new Geronimo Stilton books that had escaped my attention!

Being the Geronimo Stilton fan that I was I immediately set about to find out more about the books and how they had escaped my notice.

I hopped online and wandered over to Amazon.com and found…nothing.

Did this mean that the books did not really exist?

So then I clicked over to Google and did a general search for “Geronimo Stilton Mini Mysteries“. What I discovered confused me even more. I found a little information, but not alot. They were real but only for sale in certain countries, so far.

What were these mysterious “Mini- Mysteries” and how had they evaded not only my sleuth-like vigilance of all-things-Geronimo but also the huge bookstore that is Amazon?

I’ll share with you what I found.

Geronimo Stilton Mini Mysteries

In short, these new Mini Mysteries are…well…short.

They are about 96 pages each, smaller in size (height) and priced at $3.99.

The first three books are:

If you are yet to pick up the new Geronimo Stilton Cavemice series because you are unsure whether it fits in with the rest of the series, don’t despair – the prehistoric series features the same style and sense of humor as the other Geronimo Stilton books.

The characters are similar to their modern counterparts and are actually ancient ancestors of Geronimo, Thea and co. Geronimo Stilton’s great ancestor is known as Geronimo Stiltonoot!

Geronimo-Stilton-Scuba-Diving-2 The illustrations in Geronimo Stilton books are a large part of the series’ success.

The drawings are cartoony and colorful, highly detailed and expressive.

They show our hero and his friends in a variety of costumes, scenarios and locations: from the bottom of the sea to the top of a snow-capped mountain.

For the artists amongst us, they can also inspire readers who are interested in art to draw and play with color ourselves.

I’d like to start sharing some of my favorite Geronimo Stilton illustrations and let me know if you have favourites too.

MerryMakers Geronimo Stilton ToysGeronimo Stilton Plush toys will be coming to US shops very soon, this Fall in fact!

According to the folks over at Licensing Biz, a range of plush dolls and toys will be made by the MerryMakers company who have earned a reputation for quality toys based on children’s book properties.

The MerryMakers company is based in the US so these definitely won’t be toys you can only source through Europe. Plan to be looking at a whole lot more of Geronimo in your local department stores!

According to a press release the Geronimo Stilton toy range will include a variety of toys and accessories:

MerryMakers will create a plush line featuring dolls, finger puppets, tins, pencil cases, pencil toppers, wallets, key fobs and plush backpack clips for the Geronimo Stilton classic brand.

Looking at their website and product range, I think Geronimo is in good hands :-)

Atlantyca Entertainment signs deal with MerryMakers.

GeronimoStiltonThumbsUpA line of Geronimo Stilton plush dolls and toys will hit US shelves this autumn.

Italian entertainment company Atlantyca Entertainment secured the licensing agreement with California-based specialty plush and merchandise manufacturer MerryMakers.

The deal was completed by Atlantyca’s North American licensing agent Moonscoop.

MerryMakers will create a plush line featuring dolls, finger puppets, tins, pencil cases, pencil toppers, wallets, key fobs and plush backpack clips for the Geronimo Stilton classic brand.

“MerryMakers makes a fabulous product, caring completely for a brand’s quality,” said Rachele Geraci from Atlantyca.

 ”We are so excited to be partnering with a company that is highly recognised for their excellence in working with top literary brands.”

Clair Frederick, President of MerryMakers, added: “I’ve had my eye on Geronimo Stilton for almost 10 years.

“It’s been fun to watch the brand rise in popularity and become a world-wide phenomenon. We are delighted to be associated with Atlantyca and to finally have a chance to bring Geronimo Stilton dolls and toys to the market.”

Launched in 2000 by leading Italian publisher Edizioni Piemme through a series of children’s books, Geronimo Stilton is a famous Mouse-author/newspaper editor who writes amusing adventures.

Sales of Geronimo Stilton books top 13 million in the US and 75 million copies have been sold worldwide.

Two seasons of the Geronimo Stilton animated series are now being broadcast in over 100 countries and the third season set to commence production this year.

Geronimo Stilton DVD Volume 4The Geronimo Stilton DVD Vol 4 of the awesome Geronimo Stilton Cartoon, will be coming out in March 2013 (thanks Reece).

The DVD is available for pre-order now on Amazon.ca and the listing even identifies the DVD as the English version (a French language version is also available) so we don’t have to guess this time.

Surprisingly, after all these years, Amazon Canada is still the best place to purchase DVDs of Geronimo Stilton cartoon including the previous Geronimo Stilton DVDs as well.

Reece has also let us know that Season 3 of the cartoon is in the works and they are also making a range of Geronimo Stilton clothes (more on that later!).
